  • In the light of increased globalization and greater role of emerging economies' companies, what specific trends do you foresee in executive development programs?
I think the trends in terms of types of programs that I have already identified will continue.

The greater role of firms from emerging economies in the global market place will, and is already leading to an increase in demand for executive development from these companies. Initially this demand will be price sensitive, as the focus will be on the cost of the initiative, since the cost of

sourcing programs from leading global players is considerably higher than that charged by the domestic players. However, as these firms' understanding of the importance and role of executive development increases, their focus will shift from the cost of executive development to the value created by executive development. As this happens, these companies will look to see which business schools can meet their needs for executive development and create the best return on their investments. This is likely to benefit the leading global business schools which can bring to bear global expertise that can speak more effectively to the issues that these firms will be grappling with as they come to grips with their new and/or more significant participation in the global marketplace.
