Introduction: On October 26, 2020, the management of India-based Aurobindo Pharma Limited (Aurobindo) announced the sale of its US subsidiary, Natrol Inc (Natrol), for US$ 550 million (approximately Rs. 40,480 million). In its announcement Aurobindo said Natrol, which manufactured vitamins, minerals, and supplements, would be acquired by US-based alternative investment manager New Mountain Capital, and would be combined with its subsidiary Jarrow Formulas, a US-based formulator and supplier of nutritional supplements. “We are pleased to sell the Natrol business to an outstanding private equity player that can focus additional resources to grow Natrol, its products and brands further,” said N Govindarajan, Managing Director, Aurobindo Pharma ..
